Tour de HomeGrown on May Day

Our bicycle tour of home gardens took place on a warm sunny day with a group of about 20 people. We visited 5 gardens in Evandale, St Peters, Felixstow and Payneham and were able to see the results of gardening efforts by Sustainable Communities members, some working in Community Groups, others maintaining their own household gardens. We made a colourful and musical spectacle as we rode around the streets dinging our bells. Riding along the Linear Park we saw a koala scampering along the ground in search of a suitable tree. A special treat was tasting the delicious guavas from Anna’s block . It was great to see the thriving gardens and to get ideas and inspiration to take away.
