‘Sustainable Communities is in my soul’

One of our members said this to me the other day as she was packing up her house to move into a smaller unit.

She said that everything that she needed to dispose of she would pick up and ask herself ‘How can I prevent this going to landfill?’

That is the question we should all ask everytime we have something to dispose of. Can we reuse it? Can we give it away to a needy person, a neighbour, an op shop? Can it be repaired and given away? Can it be recycled through the kerbside bin or through some other way that Sustainable Communities suggests? Above all, our aim should be to avoid putting it in the bin that goes to landfill.
