Local recycling – Mount Gambier

Congratulations to the Sustainable Communities Community Group in Mount Gambier, Community Action for Sustainability, on the excellent brochure and booklet they have prepared and published, Mount Gambier Recycling Booklet.

It provides information about recycling over 30 different items through local businesses. These include batteries, aluminium can ring pulls, floppy discs, furniture and white goods, bread tags and even bras! There is a local collection point for Project Uplift! which provides clean new and second hand bras for women in the developing world where bras are often unaffordable and unobtainable.

The booklet and brochure will be launched at the Mount Gambier Library at 1pm on Tuesday 14  June 2011. Well done CAS! You have given us all a great model to follow.

You can find out more about recycling activities and opportunities around South Australia at Zero Waste SA.
